Published ranges

National figures, because Tucson has no published price list

We could not find a sourced price list for Tucson specifically. These three consumer guides disagree a little and include different work, which is why a written quote is what counts.

Typical total, three published guides

  • Thumbtack1 Oct 2026$1,215–$4,387
  • Fixr2 Jan 2025$1,200–$5,000
  • Bob Vila3 May 2023$1,305–$5,707

Accent mark = the guide's stated average. They include different work, which is why they disagree.

Per square foot, by water category

Bob Vila3Thumbtack1
Category 1, clean$3–$4$3.75
Category 2$4–$6.50$4.50
Category 3$7–$7.50$7
$450–$600Drying and cleanup only, national benchmark, not a quote.

Some of these ranges stop at drying and cleanup; others add drywall, ceiling or flooring repair. Ask any company which of those a quote includes, and what water category they assigned and why, since category drives the per-square-foot rate.3,1

For scale, Triple-I reports an average paid water-damage and freezing claim of $15,400 over 2019 to 2023, including repair and rebuild.4

Before you let anyone in

Five questions for whoever answers

  1. Their Arizona ROC license number. Look it up on the Registrar's site: Arizona law makes it unlawful to contract, or to claim to be a contractor, without a license in good standing unless an exemption applies.5
  2. Which license covers the work they propose. We did not find a state source that settles whether drying-only work needs a license in Arizona, so ask them and check the answer with the Registrar.
  3. What water category they have assigned, and what they found that led to it.6
  4. A written, line-item estimate before work starts.7
  5. Whether they will talk to your insurer. Tell your insurer yourself before you authorize permanent repairs.7

    They assess and quote

If you want a visit, they look at the damage and quote their own price. Ask for it in writing.
